We use WooCommerce as it is a free open source platform with no restrictions. For example many times you will want to GeoBlock entire countries at the DNS level to stop bots, spam, etc and if you are using something such as Shopify Free or Basic you will be unable to unless you upgrade to Shopify Plus for $2300/month.

Inexperienced developers may use Shopify since it’s a managed hosted service automatically setup and firms will recommend Shopify since they get a commission through the Shopify Partners Program (of which we are also a member of as we developer Shopify Apps and integrations). However the right thing to do is set a business up on WooCommerce.

WooCommerce is built ontop of the WordPress engine meaning you can easily login yourself to manage your products creating new ones, adding sales, seeing your customers, tracking inventory, fulfilling orders, printing shipping labels, etc.
